The ICAM ILQ detector is a cost-effective Aspirated Smoke Detection (ASD) solution that meets the unique needs of numerous small area applications of up to 100 m² (1,000 ft²). Examples of these include telco landline remote offices, base station controllers, remote base stations, small server rooms, data centre containers, critical equipment, packaged HVAC units, anechoic chambers, pump houses, generator enclosures, signalling huts and modular laboratories, just to name a few.
ILQ detectors are suitable for both high and normal sensitivity applications and offer many installation advantages in terms of out-of-box operation, stand-alone functionality and simplified pipe network.
How it Works
The ILQ detector actively draws air from the protected area through a pipe network where two or four holes are used. The ILQ has two pipe inlets and there are always one or two holes on each pipe. Sampled air is then filtered before being analyzed by the detection chamber. The detection chamber utilizes a laser light source and photoelectric receiver circuitry to detect scattered light caused by the presence of smoke. Alarm (Pre-Alarm & Fire) and Fault conditions are reported by activating the corresponding LEDs on the simple display and dry contact relays. The system allows configuration of both smoke alarm and flow fault thresholds to suit the application needs.
Configuration Options
Convenient and expedient configuration of the ILQ detector is available via DIP switches for true out-of-box operation. A USB communication interface is also available for the Xtralis QSC Configuration and Fire System Management Software application.
Inputs and Outputs
The ILQ detector provides a programmable General Purpose Input (GPI) for remote Reset, Reset + Disable, Stand-by and External Device (PSU) monitoring functions. Three dry contact relay outputs are available for Alarm and Fault annunciation.

IFTER EQU v.2 allows you to work in the entirely new environment. WEB visualization offers a simpler, browserfriendly view so that you can easily access the application on your mobile devices. Online mode can be used to confirm alarms, display elements, status, and logs. WEB visualization shows you up to 100 last events.

When the alarm is set off, the operator will immediately be shown such information, with additional live camera footage (if available). You can ascribe multiple cameras to one location so that the operator is able to verify the situation from more than one angle.

Access Control System is designed to constantly monitor the flow of people on the object. The system uses keycards and compatible readers to inform about the location and the number of people in the covered area. Moreover, it is a quick way to establish a person’s identity, with the option of additional restrictions that indicate to pay close attention to a given person setting foot on site.

The standard Fire Beam Xtra package comes complete with the head unit, the low level controller, a single reflector, a user manual and a 3mm allen key. This will enable you to cover distances up to 70 metres. To cover distances over 70 metres just add one of our range kits to extend the coverage up to 160 metres.

Not wanting to rest on our laurels, our world renowned design team has listened to our customers and we have now created the Fire Beam Xtra.
Incorporating many of your suggestions and adding our own new innovations, the new Xtra model is a permanent replacement for the original Fire Beam and the outgoing Plus model. The result has further refined this already extraordinary market leader.
With new enhanced optics you can cover distances up to 160 metres, meaning for distances over 100 metres you no longer need to use two beams, saving both time and money.
So what’s new with the Xtra model?
New Revised Optics: This new design incorporates all the leading features we have honed over the years and with the latest advanced components we have produced a VdS approved fully compliant to EN 54-12:2015 beam detector that out performs all other beams in the market place.
Five Times Faster: We have designed completely new linear stepper motors which have resulted in amazingly fast commissioning and routine maintenance. Under test conditions at 40 metres we recorded an auto-align time of 3m02s using the Fire Beam straight out of the box. Once aligned a routine re-alignment was timed at just 1m07s. This is class-leading performance not only in terms of speed but also in terms of advanced robust design built for precise purpose.
Multi Language Support: The Fire Beam Xtra has the ability to display seven different languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, and Czech. A feature that is welcomed by our ever increasing international customers as we now sell to 62 countries around the world.
Auto-Align On/Off: Although rarely needed, this facility allows you to turn off the auto-alignment in normal service, should the environment be liable to occasional contamination (such as theatres with fake smoke). As motorised beams work by seeing the reflector, if they are unable to because of unavoidable obscuration they can fall out of alignment when trying to find the obscured reflector.
The Fire Beam Xtra will remain in perfect alignment in these environments simply by not trying to re-align itself. Auto-alignment will still continue to work in commissioning modes. This facility is best suited to beams that are mounted on solid surfaces that are not susceptible to building movement at all. For buildings that are liable to movement (such as metal warehouses) we have also built in a new delay function that can be used instead (see below).
Auto-Align Time Delay: Again this facility is useful in environments that are liable to occasional short term obscuration. Adding a delay means that the beam will not check for alignment if the received signal drops for a predetermined time. Pre-set at 4 hours this can be altered to anywhere between 0 to 12 hours if required, to allow the environment to clear.
Beam Phasing: It is possible that beams that face each other will cause problems as their sample rates could coincide and result in unreliable readings, meaning false auto-alignment and unreliably in service. With the introduction of phasing it is now possible to mount beams facing each other with reflectors inbetween. There are up to 7 different sampling rates to choose from, alleviating any cross talk problems.

Hysteresis: Changing the hysteresis will change the delay in returning from a fire state back to a normal state. For example, the beam is factory set at 15% so if the beam falls into fire at 65% (35% threshold) it has to recover 15% to 80% before it returns to normal. This action prevents small fluctuations in returned signal causing the beam to fall in and out of a fire state. This can be adjusted to anywhere between 1% and 40%. The hysteresis can simply be adjusted from this new menu option.
